The doctor and professor of the UCLM José Antonio Castro will be the director of the Research Agency of Castilla-La Mancha, as reported by the spokesperson of the regional government, Blanca Fernández, at a press conference.

As she explained at the press conference, Castro has a "great professional profile", having a degree in Chemical Sciences from the UCLM and a PhD in Homogeneous Catalysis with an Extraordinary Prize for the best thesis in science.

The aim of this agency is to "advance research", an objective that requires other more secondary objectives such as advising on initiatives.

From its inception until now, this agency has already invested 6 million euros in various projects, and now aims to "give a boost" with this appointment.

The mission of the Research and Innovation Agency of Castilla-La Mancha is to promote scientific and technical research in all areas of knowledge through the competitive and efficient allocation of public resources, the monitoring of funded actions and their impact, and advice on the planning of actions or initiatives through which the R&D policies of the Administration of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha are implemented.
