Biomass

T

he biomass Section of the Renewable Energy Research Institute is part of the Fuels and Engines Group of the UCLM (GCM) which is formed by twenty five researchers, chemical and mechanical engineers. Biomass staff of the Group includes people working at the Renewable Energy Research Institute of Albacete and at the School of Mechanical Engineering of Ciudad Real and Albacete.

Most of the group's projects have a strong experimental component, which is possible because of the wide laboratory equipment belonging to the group. The 100 % of the obtained economic resources during the last 21 years have been invested on that equipment which results in a 4,000,000 € total equipment.

The group has a long and vocational experience collaborating with companies, mainly from the energy sector. Some of these companies are:  IBERDROLA, SMURFIT-KAPPA, ENCE, ACCIONA, CADE, CESPA and HUSESOLAR.
