Reception of students for the National Chemistry Olympiad 2021
From the Instituto Regional de Investigaciones Científicas Aplicadas (IRICA) and Instituto de Investigación en Combustión y Contaminación Atmosférica (ICCA) we are in constant collaboration with non-profit societies such as the Real Sociedad Española de Química (RSEQ) in particular with its territorial section of Castilla La Mancha, Asociación de Divulgación Científica y Pensamiento Crítico de Ciudad Real (ADICIPEC) and the Museo de la Ciencia de Ciudad Real, among others. This project seeks to encourage different actions throughout the academic year to bring Science closer to Society in general, showing the importance of the research carried out at the UCLM and, more specifically, that developed at the IRICA and the ICCA in the field of Chemistry. For this purpose, we propose different types of activities, which are listed below. The main objective of this project is, therefore, to make these research centers and the research they develop known. The RSEQ from the CLM territorial section will support all the activities that we propose to carry out.
The highschoold students were received by the dean, Manuel Andrés Rodrigo; by the president of the territorial section of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry, María Antonia Herrero; and by the director of the Regional Institute of Applied Scientific Research (IRICA), Ester Vázquez, among other professors and researchers of the UCLM.During their visit to the faculty they had the opportunity to visit different laboratories and to participate in experiments and also to learn first-hand about the academic offerings of the center, which offers degrees in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Food Science and Technology.
