The Polytechnic School of Cuenca (EPC) is a teaching, scientific, technological and cultural centre of the University of Castilla-La Mancha whose general aim is to be an instrument and catalyst for all scientific and technological activities in the fields of Building and Telecommunications which concern the Cuenca campus, the UCLM and the Castilla-La Mancha Region.
At this School, students can study courses in order to obtain the following university degrees:
From the outset there has been significant student demand for these degree courses; at the same time the EPC has become well-known for its excellent human resources, thanks to its body of highly-qualified academic staff, its material resources and the large number of laboratories in different fields of study, including a building measuring almost 8,000 m² specifically designed for the teaching of science and technology. Students can therefore benefit from the optimum balance of theoretical, practical and experimental teaching which is required for training, as well as excellent employment opportunities.
The EPC first offered the Technical Architecture degree in November 1994, at the then called University School of Technical Architecture of Cuenca. In 1998 it offered the Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Telecommunications Engineering (Major in Sound and Image) after having their study programnes approved and published, with the school going on to become the Polytechnic College of Cuenca.
After adapting its degree courses to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the school changed its name to the Polytechnic School of Cuenca (EPC). In the 2009-2010 academic year it replaced its Technical Architecture degree with the current Bachelor’s Degree in Building Engineering. Also, in the 2010-2011 academic year it replaced its Technical Telecommunications Engineering degree with the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Telecommunication Systems Engineering, which in turn in the 2016-20017 academic year became the current Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Technologies Engineering. Lastly, in 2016-2017 the University Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering became available.
This webpage aims to provide up-to-date information on the School, providing easy access to anyone who may be interested in the activities carried out at the EPC.
